Veterans, active-duty military members, and their families are nearly twice as vulnerable to addiction and compulsive gambling as the general population. As part of our commitment to providing exceptional care for those in need, we offer a specialized military treatment track for individuals and families who currently serve or have served our country.

At Keystone Treatment Center, we provide transformative treatment for our clients who are struggling with addiction. For many people who have served in the military, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or other mental health concerns can often co-occur with a substance use disorder.
Our treatment philosophy is based on the belief that challenges with addiction should be addressed as the first step in successful care for PTSD or any other mental illness.
We help veterans, active-duty military members, and their families find a balance of mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual harmony. This requires us to identify previous trauma and introduce the transition from a wounded past to recovered healing.

Addiction and mental health concerns don’t affect just those who served. They can have a significant impact on the families of both veterans and active-duty military members. That’s why we offer a wonderful family program that invites loved ones to be a part of the recovery journey.

We treat active-duty and former members of all military branches at Keystone Treatment Center. Additionally, we have partnered with TRICARE West insurance and have a VA Community Care Contract, making admission into our military program as accessible as possible for those who have served.
Our military program isn’t the only specialty treatment track we offer. We also provide specialty treatment for Native Americans, Christians, individuals who are struggling with opioid and meth addiction, law enforcement and other first responders, and medical and legal professionals.
Our military program features care provided by a team of dedicated professionals who understand the unique challenges and struggles faced by those who have served. We treat each client as the unique individual they are, developing a personalized treatment plan to empower them at each stage of the recovery process.
Additional program benefits include:
- Weekly veterans circle with county veteran service officer (CVSO)
- Weekly meeting with veteran service center in Sioux Falls
- Access to South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance, which includes the South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs
At the completion of treatment, we provide all clients with a personalized aftercare plan that contains community resources and information that will help them maintain the progress they made while in our military program.
