Admissions

At Keystone Treatment Center, we are dedicated to helping you make the right decision. We offer a straightforward, stress-free admission process where you can explore all treatment options available.

Taking the First Step

The process of admissions at Keystone starts with a simple phone call. We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week through our telephone inquiry service, which is staffed by knowledgeable and compassionate admissions counselors.

If you wish to schedule an assessment immediately, you are welcome to contact our outpatient treatment center Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm.

What to Expect When You Call

When you contact us, our counselors will work diligently to answer any questions that you may have. They will also conduct a basic screening in order to ensure that Keystone offers programming that will most appropriately meet your needs. Examples of the information they will request includes the following:

  • Demographic information
  • History of substance abuse (if applicable)
  • History of compulsive gambling behaviors (if applicable)
  • Whether other presenting concerns exist (e.g. symptoms of a co-occurring mental health condition, etc.)
  • Insurance information

Once this general information has been provided, our counselors will be able to determine whether or not Keystone offers the type and level of service that will be of most benefit to you.

Admissions Process

After speaking with one of our admissions counselors, they will work with you to schedule a time to come into our center for a more thorough assessment.

The assessment itself takes approximately two hours, during which time our clinical team will gather more in-depth information about your history, your experiences, your concerns, and your treatment goals. This information will allow our team to feel confident in providing you with the most appropriate recommendation for care. These recommendations will be given immediately following the assessment interview session.

We are proud of the diversified network of referral sources with whom we work, and so, if we believe that your needs would best be met elsewhere, we will provide you with appropriate referrals following the assessment.

Once the recommendation for services has been supplied, and you agree to receiving treatment at our center, our staff will go over the next steps of the process with you. A time for admissions will be set, and when you return to our center to begin receiving care, our staff will work diligently to help you become acclimated to the treatment setting and feel comfortable as your programming begins.

Admissions Criteria

Admissions into programming here at Keystone is always determined on a case-by-case basis, depending on the particular needs of each individual who seeks our care. However, there are a few general criteria that all potential patients must meet in order to partake in our services. These criteria include the following:

  • For adult programming, individuals must be aged 19 or older.
  • Prospective patients must meet criteria for a substance use disorder or pathological gambling. The presence of any co-occurring mental health concerns must be secondary.
  • An individual’s physical and mental health conditions must be stable enough to allow him or her to fully participate in programming.
  • Individuals must be able to participate in programming in an unlocked treatment setting.
  • Prospective patients should be able to provide payment through insurance, state funding, IHS, or private pay.

Unfortunately, we are unequipped to successfully treat individuals who are in a state of acute psychosis or who are experiencing active suicidal ideation. Should someone with these concerns seek our care, we will provide him or her, or his or her loved ones, with appropriate referrals for acute treatment. Once he or she is stabilized, admittance to our program can be reevaluated.
