Our adolescent addiction programs are designed for male and female patients between the ages of 13-17 (and 18 if still in school). Males and females reside and are treated separately from each other, including groups addressing gender related issues. A structured treatment process provides an opportunity for each patient to recognize and examine the consequences of their substance use.
The programming also provides the opportunity to learn, practice skills and behaviors, helping them lead a full and productive life. Each adolescent is assessed individually and their treatment plan tailored to meet the unique and specific needs identified. Individual and group sessions, as well as a family program are all utilized in the treatment process.
At Keystone each patient's length of stay is flexible and is based upon individual needs. Our inpatient services include around-the-clock nursing care with physicians available 24/7. Our staff includes a psychiatrist/ addictionologist, two physicians, a clinical psychologist, licensed psychiatric nurse, licensed chemical dependency counselors, and a licensed marriage and family therapist. Our treatment program is based on the 12-step philosophy of Narcotics Anonymous.
Full-time teachers are provided to allow the patient to continue with their school classes while in treatment.
In the past 25 years, 20 - 25% of our patients have been Native American. Our philosophy recognizes each individual as unique and of worth, and should be treated with dignity and respect. Keystone appreciates the uniqueness of the Native American and is sensitive to their culture in our treatment process. We have the skilled staff, commitment, and understanding to assist individuals in realizing their full potential. Keystone encourages each individual to make a plan, recognize their personal worth, and accept the help and guidance of their native culture as they move through the recovery process. Please go to the Native American Specialty Track for more information.
Because Keystone believes that spirituality is an important aspect of recovery, we offer pastoral counseling to clients in order to assist them with their spiritual journey. Other services include extended treatment which can be arranged as needed. Throughout the treatment process we emphasize the importance of continuum of care and involvement in an appropriate support group after discharge.
In a time when our world and cultures may be at a crossroads, we are drawn together as one in addiction.
Detoxification Services
Detoxification is a service which uses medical interventions, including the administration of physician prescribed medications and medical monitoring, to safely assist patients withdrawing from addictive substances. Detoxification is under the direction of our Medical Director and is monitored by 24 hour nursing care. Length of detox varies depending upon the severity of withdrawal. Detox is offered as a transition into inpatient programs. Every patient is evaluated for their individual care. Our physicians are licensed to use Buprenorphine (Subutex) in the withdrawal from opioids and are experienced in all the various aspects of drug and alcohol withdrawal.
Family Programs
Addictions affect everyone in a family. Keystone offers education and support to the family while their loved one is in treatment. Our family program is designed to strengthen the family system, modify family behaviors, promote open and honest communication, and encourage healthy relationships. Family counseling is accomplished through individual counseling sessions, educational programming, group therapy, and family sessions.
